World Environment Day 2026: Inspiring Young Minds for a Sustainable Future

As part of the observance of World Environment Day, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Kollengode conducted a special programme on 05 June 2026 at 10:00 AM to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to become responsible guardians of nature. The programme was organized around the global theme "Now for Climate", highlighting the urgent need for collective action to address environmental challenges. The event featured the inauguration of the School Vegetable Garden, fostering an appreciation for sustainable agriculture and healthy living among students. An innovative Digital Botanical Garden Initiative was also launched, where QR codes were generated for various plants, enabling students to access botanical information through technology. The celebration further included a sapling planting ceremony, environmental awareness activities, and a Green Earth Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of students and staff towards protecting the environment. The event marked the beginning of an exciting educational journey for our young learners. The campus was filled with enthusiasm, colourful decorations, and cheerful smiles as children stepped into their first school experience. Through a warm reception and child-friendly activities, the programme aimed to help students feel comfortable, confident, and excited about learning. Parents were also welcomed as valued partners in their children's educational journey. The occasion reflected our commitment to providing a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and develop strong values from the very beginning. An attempt to make Guinness Book World Record Founder of Chinmaya Mission, Param Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati had a vision and mission to educate the future generations with the Vedantas and rich cultural heritage of India. For this, he established the Chinmaya Mission and further, Chinmaya Vidyalayas all over the globe. On his 110th Jayanti, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro participated in the Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam, Global Gita Chanting of Chapter 15 - Purshottam Yog. This chanting was an attempt to make a Guinness Book World Record, as more than 2,00,000 devotees joined together virtually and chanted the gita sholkas. From Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, more than 5000+ devotees joined the chanting with 95 hosts. Across India and abroad more than 20,000 hosts conducted the Geeta chanting. With the divine blessings of Gurudev, the chanting was conducted smoothly and successfully.
